Scope

Branding, UI.UX

This project began with a clear problem statement centered on improving access to information, enabling high-frequency student interactions, and creating a more personalized mobile experience. Through user-centered research methods—including personas, empathy mapping, and user journey mapping—I identified key challenges faced by students, particularly those who are undeclared or unsure how to navigate academic resources.

Following user interviews and design research, I developed initial concepts through sketching and iterated toward a high-fidelity visual prototype. The interface was designed using VCU’s brand-inspired color palette—orange, black, and white—to maintain a strong institutional identity. I selected the geometric sans-serif typeface Poppins for its clarity and readability, ensuring accessibility across mobile screen sizes. The final redesign not only organizes information more intuitively but also introduces new features such as course recommendations, program insights, and student reviews. These additions streamline the decision-making process, allowing students to explore academic paths, discover their interests, and plan their schedules more efficiently.
